FIELD: electrical and electromechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method designed for controlling interference fits of shroud rings shrunk while hot on rotors of large electrical machines such as turbogenerators without disassembling them includes diagnosing interference fits and their variations by comparative measurements of radial clearances between rotor barrel outer surface at its end part and inner annular surface of lip disposed on shroud ring nose when evaluating interference fits between shroud rings and rotor barrel as well as between outer non-fit surfaces of alignment rings and outer non-fit surfaces of shroud rings while determining interference fits of shroud rings on alignment ring. Variations in interference fits of shroud rings on rotor barrel are found by comparative measurements of difference in radial clearance between several zones disposed on outer surface of rotor barrel and inner surface of shroud ring lip.
EFFECT: enhanced measurement accuracy, reduced inspection and repair cost.
