FIELD: treatment of materials.

SUBSTANCE: bast fiber material is subject to retting, cottonizing which is performed by means of electric-hydraulic action onto fiber placed into liquid medium, loosening, drying, pressing which is made during two steps (the first one is performed after retting, and the other one - after cottonizing), bleaching or washing-out which is made before loosening. Loosening is preformed before drying. Cottonizing is made by means of device which has bath for liquid medium and electric-hydraulic action chamber. The latter is mounted in bath for broken movement along it and for vertical movement inside loading and unloading area. The latter is made in form of hood turned with its open part to bottom of bath. Hood carries electrodes mounted in its top part. Electrodes are connected with pulse current oscillator.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of treatment.
