METHOD FOR TAKING SAMPLES TO DETECT INFECTIOUS AGENT TRANSFERRED BY SEXUAL CONTACT Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC G01N33/48

Abstract RU 2280864 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves taking material from urogenital organs during the maximum detection frequency period specific for the given pathogenic agent and carrying out laboratory detection of the agent following next to it. The material is taken during ovarian menstrual cycle within time interval determined on the basis of given determination index R2 value from an equation showing preliminary results of various infectious agents detection frequency study in given region for diseases transferred by sexual contact depending on ovarian menstrual cycle time interval with seasonal variability of given parameter taken into consideration. The parameter characterizes dependence of pathologic agent detection probability on the ordinal number of one of ten intervals into which the ovarian menstrual cycle is divided. Interval number grows from the ovarian menstrual cycle beginning to its end. Duration of the first, ninth and tenth interval is set to be equal to four days and duration of the other intervals is to be equal to three days. Molecular biological diagnosis methods like polymerase chain reaction method are preferentially applied. Determination coefficient R2 being equal to 0.703, expression of Y=-0.0015x2+0.0215x+0.0981 is used, where y is the pathologic agent detection probability in the case of diseases transferred by sexual contact, in %; x is the ordinal interval number. Determination coefficient R2 being equal to 0.8039, expression of Y=-0.000004x6+ 0.0002x5-0.0032x4+0.0272x3-0.1166x2+0.245x-0.0459 is used, where y is the pathologic agent detection probability in the case of diseases transferred by sexual contact, in %; x is the ordinal interval number.

EFFECT: high sensitivity of the method.
