FIELD: removal of mercury from flue gas containing mercury and solid particles and escaping from energy-converting plant working on fossil fuel.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes the following stages: (a) oxidation of mercury to HgCl2 by bringing it in contact with solution containing at least one chloride-containing salt dissolved in solvent which is introduced into flue gas passage; (b) heating of solution before stage (a) or after it to a temperature of about 300°C; (c) removal of oxidized mercury from flue gas by facility of removal of solid particles from flue gas.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of removal of mercury from flue gas at low content; reduced corrosion of flue gas passage; low cost.
