FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: mercury-halogenating agent and ammonia are added to flue gas formed during combustion in a boiler and containing NOx, SOx and mercury. The flue gas is brought into contact with a CO/HC oxidation catalyst, undergoes reductive denitration in the presence of a solid catalyst simultaneously with oxidation of metallic mercury to halogenated mercury. The flue gas undergoes wet desulphurisation using an alkaline absorbent solution and the halogenated mercury is removed. The invention also discloses versions of gas purification devices.
EFFECT: invention enables to reduce the amount of the highly corrosive agent for halogenating mercury used in the method, while maintaining high efficiency of removing mercury.
