FIELD: mechanical engineering; machining; manufacture of turning tools.
SUBSTANCE: method includes getting of blanks with hollow body, forming of socket for cutting tool and filling of space with vibration damping material. To reduce labor input at manufacture and metal usage, blank with hollow body is formed by connecting two metal plates. End of lower plate is bent upwards and is fitted into support slot made in end of lower surface of upper plate, and end of upper plate is bent downwards. Upper and lower plates can be connected by welding. Body can be subjected to heat treatment.
EFFECT: facilitated manufacture of turning tool.
