FIELD: nuclear radiation recording and detection.

SUBSTANCE: proposed scintillation material based on activated lithium iodide crystal uses europium compounds as activator which is chemically resistant to lithium iodide melt; anion radius of these compounds is smaller than that of iodine, proportion of ingredients being as follows, mass percent: europium compounds (in terms of europium), 6.10-3 - 9.10-3; lithium iodide, the rest.

EFFECT: enhanced light output and energy resolution in recording neutrons and gamma-quanta.
