FIELD: filtration engineering.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions related to porous filter elements obtained by compressing starting components under heating conditions, e.g. by hot-pressing, injection casting, continuous extrusion technique, or calendaring technique, which elements can be used in water-treatment filters. Filter element contains material prepared from following component mixture, wt %: activated carbon particles 50-95, ion-exchange polyacrylonitrile fibers 3-30, and polymer binder 10-15 under condition that no more than 90% of activated carbon particles are granulated particles, while remaining ones are in powdered state, and average length of ion-exchange polyacrylonitrile fibers is larger than average diameter of said granulated activated carbon particles.
EFFECT: prolonged service time of filter and increased degree of purification from heavy metals.
