FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of ballistic preparation of artillery weapons for firing. It proposes a method for automatic determination of a correction for bore wear to the projectile muzzle velocity during ballistic preparation of firing. The wedge breechblock of a gun contains a gas flow sensor installed therein. A pressurised volume of the charge chamber is determined by supplying gas into the chamber through the gas flow sensor. A signal from the gas flow sensor is read in automatic mode, the value of which is proportional to the charge chamber volume and to the bore wear. An allowance for this value is made while calculating a correction for bore wear to the projectile muzzle velocity.
EFFECT: enhancement of firing effectiveness; reduction in time required for ballistic preparation of firing and exclusion of the operations of bore wear measurement in firing position.
