FIELD: apiculture, in particular, swarming controlling equipment.
SUBSTANCE: swarm catcher is made in the form of rectangle molded from plastic and secured by means of screws. Front wall is made in the form of grid fixed with its lower end on pivot joints and with its upper part to latch provided on cover of swarm catcher, said catcher comprising bar with two retainers. Rear wall of swarm catcher is made in the form of grid with window, said grid being positioned for sliding along slots of side walls and for contacting with bar. Cover of swarm catcher has rotating bolt for retaining grid in vertical plane. Sides of swarm bee queen passage are attached to grid window by cold welding process. Left-hand wall of swarm catcher is provided with window closed with glass allowing internal cavity to be viewed.
EFFECT: reduced time and provision for retention of bees during swarming period.
