FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with differential diagnostics of endocrine ophthalmopathy against other exophthalmos-accompanied orbital diseases. One should conduct complex ultrasound orbital testing - B-scanning, energetic and chromatic Doppler mapping of orbital vessels - orbital arteries and veins. At detecting the increase in maximal systolic rate of circulation being above 45 cm/sec, values of hemodynamic resistance indices in orbital artery - resistance above 0.75 and pulsation index being above 1.5 - one should predict endocrine ophthalmopathy. At detecting the decrease in rate values in orbital arteries and veins, indices of pulsation being below 1.2 and resistance being below 0.6 - one should diagnose orbital tumor. At detecting the increase in maximal systolic rate being above 44 cm/sec, the decrease in hemodynamic resistance values - pulsation one being below 1, resistance one being below 0.6 - it is possible to diagnose orbital pseudotumor in initial stage. The innovation enables to fulfill differential diagnostics of endocrine ophthalmopathy against other orbital diseases leading to the development of exophthalmos.
