SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out triplex ultrasonic examination as combined gray scale ultrasonic scanning in real time mode, color Doppler mapping and pulsating mode Doppler sonography. Vascularization availability is detected in space-occupying orbit lesion. Quantitative blood circulation values are recorded in the inside of the tumor and in ophthalmic artery. Orbital tumor index (OTI) is calculated from a formula OTI= V_{max tbv}/V_{max oar}, where V_{max tbv} is the systolic peak speed in tumor blood vessels and V_{max oar} is the systolic peak speed in the ophthalmic artery. OTI not greater than 1.1, idiopathic dacryoadenitis is to be diagnosed. OTI equal to 1.27±0.13 and showing tendency to growth, lacrimal gland adenocarcinoma is to be diagnosed.

EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis.
