FIELD: systems for protecting metallic envelopes of electric power supply cables.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of connecting metallic electrode-protector having higher negative internal potential than potential of metal of protected cable, with envelope of cable; connecting cable envelope in end portions of cable line with grounding device through circuit of connected in parallel spark gap and oscillatory circuit having connected in series reactor and capacitor tuned for commercial frequency 50 Hz.
EFFECT: effective protection against corrosion, lightning and short circuit currents.
