FIELD: sugar industry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves grinding sugar beet roots into pomace; separating juice therefrom by centrifuging process; washing pomace with water followed by separating mixture in centrifuge. Pomace is washed in four stages, with fresh water being supplied at final washing stage. Filtrate is fed from each subsequent pomace washing stage to each previous stage, beginning from second stage. Centrifuging process is carried out using conical centrifuges having filtering material with 40-50 micron sized meshes. Optimal pomace and water ratio and also pomace and filtrate ratio is set to be 1:0.95.
EFFECT: improved quality of resultant juice and increased extent of extracting saccharose from pomace.
