FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines. SUBSTANCE: spool type timing mechanical is proposed which uses cooled sleeve and rotating cylindrical spool. Design dimensions of mechanism are optimized. Inner diameter of spool is equal to 0.1-0.8 of diameter of engine cylinder. Thickness of spool wall is 0.020 - 0.20 of its outer diameter. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of operation. 3 dwg
