FIELD: electrical engineering; cable junction boxes including cable terminating ones.

SUBSTANCE: proposed cable junction box has cable end sealing unit, insulated splice of cables with interphase space in-between and thermosetting tube fitted thereon in which cable conductor termination unit has two guards functioning as hold-down strips, one of them being made of oil-resistant polymeric material and other guard, of polymeric material characterized in nonlinear power characteristics; it also has spacer between cable conductors made in the form of cylindrical rod with at least three deep lengthwise stretched segmental depressions. Sealing member of cable box is made of double-layer tube whose first external layer is made of thermosetting material with sublayer of adhesive material and external layer is made in the form of cylinder split on its longitudinal axis and tightly fitted to mentioned first layer; it is made, like spacer, of low-melting material. Cable box is sealed by heating external thermosetting layer and adhesive layer and filling interphase space between cable conductors with molten material of spacer and internal layer at the same time thermosetting the external layer.

EFFECT: facilitated procedure, enhanced quality of insulation, service life and reliability of cable box, reduced insulation strain.
