SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, namely to a method for sealing air gaps in cable products with plastic and rubber insulation operated in explosive zones. The method of manufacturing a power cable includes preliminary sealing of a conductive multi-wire core. The coated wire is placed in the center of the conductive core, a three-layer insulation is applied on top of the sealed conductive multi-wire core. A layer of electrically conductive tapes is applied by winding or by extrusion a layer of an electrically conductive composition and the outer gaps are sealed the core. To seal the inner gap between the insulated cable cores, a central round cord is used, made of semi-conducting non-vulcanized silicone rubber or non-spreading gorenje non-vulcanized silicone rubber. At the same time, the insulated cores are compressed and pressed into the central spaces between the insulated cores during twisting.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the longitudinal tightness of the power cable to limit the movement of combustible substances along the power cable.
