FIELD: electric engineering; measuring technique.

SUBSTANCE: pulse currents are generated during process of metering of consumption in excitation winding of electromagnet flow meter with concentric field periodically when receiving signals from pulse oscillator due to discharge of reservoir capacitor. Electro-motive force, induced between case and electrode of flow meter, is measured during current pulse and electro-motive force, induced between case and electrode of flow meter, is measured and memorized between current pulses. Difference between measured values of electro-motive force is calculated and the value is subject to integration during current pulse. Excitation winding current is measured and integrated during current pulse. Integral of difference of electro-motive force to current integral is calculated during current pulse. The ration calculated is proportional to current consumption. Device for measuring consumption has primary electromagnet converter which is formed by cylindrical case, electrode and excitation winding; excitation winding feeding circuit which has voltage source, reservoir capacitor and two switches; measuring circuit which has current detector, two amplifiers, two sample and store units, adder, two integrators, divider, pulse oscillator, inverter, delay unit, two switches and zero-body.

EFFECT: reduced error of measurements; simplified method of measurement.
