FIELD: determination of flow rate of dielectric and poorly conducting liquid media with use of electromagnetic flowmeters. SUBSTANCE: value of flow velocity of tested liquid over fixed time interval is found in process of formation of information signal by values of electromotive force of induction, intensity of excited electromagnetic field is changed depending on obtained value of increment, on current value of flow velocity, on parameters of tested liquid or on parameters characterizing measurement conditions. Intensity is changed so that its possible minimum for value of error of information signal specified for current value of increment of flow velocity is achieved. EFFECT: considerable reduction of energy consumption for excitation of electromagnetic field in case of control over constant or quasi-constant expenses. 5 cl, 2 dwg
