FIELD: protection against ionizing radiation.
SUBSTANCE: proposed radiation-shielding material incorporates manganese ferroalloys used as filler as well as cement and sodium tetraborate, as binder, proportion of ingredients being as follows, mass percent: manganese ferroalloys, 75-90; cement, 5-15; sodium tetraborate, 5-10. Proposed material production process involves mixing of filler and binder, molding of mixture obtained, followed by dry pressing and heat treatment. Manganese ferroalloys are used as filler, cement and sodium tetraborate, as binder.
EFFECT: enhanced radiation-shielding properties and mechanical strength of material.
