SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes ceramic molds formed by layer-by-layer application of ceramic suspension onto pattern forming cavity of casting; starting and seed cavities arranged under cavity of casting. Configuration of cross section of starting cavity corresponds to that of casting cavity in place of their abutment. Direction of generatrix of starting cavity coincides with direction of casting axis relative to which orientation of material structure is preset. Staring cavity has cross section in the form of parallelogram. Dimensions of starting cavity exceed by 5 - 40% dimensions of cross section of casting base. Seed cavity adjacent to starting cavity has cross section whose dimensions exceed by 5 - 40 % dimensions of cross section of starting cavity.
EFFECT: less loss of structure yield of monocrystalline and thin-acicular castings.
