FIELD: machine engineering, possibly manufacture of monocrystalline blades of modern gas turbine engines and gas turbine plants of nickel base refractory alloys.

SUBSTANCE: in base of ceramic mold there are seed cavity, crystal sampler in the form of helical runner and cone start cavity. The last is connected with mold cavity forming casting. In seed cavity monocrystalline seed with predetermined crystallographic orientation is placed. Crystal sampler has two parts of different diameters. Large-diameter part of crystal sampler has ceramic insert and it adjoins to seed. Small diameter part of crystal sampler is connected with cone start cavity. Rising angle of part of crystal sampler connected with cone start cavity is less than conicity angle of start cavity by 5 - 10 degrees. At heating mold ceramic insert protects end of seed against oxide spots. After pouring insert floats up and it does not prevent structure passing from seed to casting.

EFFECT: increased yield of castings with desired structure.
