FIELD: plastic metal working; treatment of parts made from niobium-based alloys in cold state.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes application of grease on surface of blank to be treated, placing the blank on mandrel and rotary extrusion of it by pressing roller. Blank is coated with nitrocellulose lacquer and is held in air till lacquer becomes sticky; tester leaves trace on surface of lacquer but lacquer does not follow it. Then graphite is applied to sticky surface and blank is placed on mandrel for subsequent treatment.

EFFECT: improved quality of part surfaces due to avoidance of bond between tool and surface being treated.
