FIELD: mechanical engineering; finishing and hardening of parts by surface plastic deformation.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in application of static and periodic pulse load to surface of revolving blank treated by deforming tool made in form of wedge roller. Periodic pulse load is applied by means of striker and tool-waveguide made in form of rods of similar diameter. Tool-waveguide is provided with fork on whose axle wedge roller is mounted for free rotation. Tool-guidewave is brought in contact with surface being treated by means of wedge roller. Wedge roller has peripheral surface formed by curvilinear generatrix which has maximum and minimum length. Longitudinal feed of tool-waveguide is made per revolution of blank by amount not exceeding half minimum length of wedge roller generatrix.
EFFECT: extended functional capabilities.
