FIELD: carpentry manual tools. SUBSTANCE: plane includes block with shaped base and cutter with working portion and stem placed in through groove of block. Working portion and stem of cutter are mutually inclined; inclination angle of stem exceeds that of working portion relative to face of base by 2. ..10^o. Profile of cutting edge of working portion of cutter coincides with that of base. Width of working portion of cutter exceeds width of stem; working portion is provided with shoulders resting upon upper lateral surfaces of stepped groove. Relation of length values of stem in zone of plane and working portion of cutter is no less than 1.5-6.0. Cutting edge of working portion of cutter is sharpened with bevelling. Cutting edge for making flat surfaces has constantly sharpened angle; cutting edge for making shaped faces has sharpened angle varying relative to center of semicircles of concave and convex surfaces of cutting edges. Lateral edges of working portion of cutter are sharpened and they are extended outside of surface worked by means of cutter. Front end portion of shaped base is rounded. Plane is provided with removable casing in the form of stand with lateral walls whose dimensions are coincided with those of plane and of supporting surface corresponding to profile of base. EFFECT: enhanced roughness degree of planed surfaces of wooden articles, lowered labor consumption, improved efficiency, possibility for planing very hard kinds of wood. 7 cl, 4 dwg
