FIELD: elimination of the interference factor arising in the process of object detection caused by a double diffraction of the radar signal at the desired object.

SUBSTANCE: the method consists in radiation of the observation zone by the first electromagnetic signal at a certain absence of the object in the observation zone, reception and determination of the characteristics of the first electromagnetic signal reflected from the scatterer located behind the supposed location of the object in the observation zone, radiation of the observation zone by the second electromagnetic signal, which performs the current sounding of the observation zone at an uncertaintly of the fact of location of the object in it, reception and comparison of the characteristics of the received second electromagnetic signal with the characteristics of the received first electromagnetic signal, and adoption of a decision on detection of the object; the characteristics of the first and second electromagnetic signals coincide at their radiation, in the first modification the second electromagnetic signal reflected from the scatterer is received, which, in case of location of the object in the observation zone, twice passes through it on the way of propagation from the radiator to the scatterer and from the scatterer to the receiver thereby twice diffracting at the object, after that the characteristics of the received second electromagnetic signal are compared with the characteristics of the received first electromagnetic signal by comparison of the diffraction - interference pattern determined at reception of the second electromagnetic signal with the diffraction-interference pattern determined at reception of the first electromagnetic signal, and a decision is taken on detection of the object according to variation of the diffraction-interference pattern determined at reception of the second electromagnetic signal relative to the diffraction-interference pattern determined at reception of the first electromagnetic signal. The second modification of the method for detection of the object differs from the first modification by the fact that the comparison of the characteristics of the received second electromagnetic signal is accomplished by comparison of the diffraction pattern determined at reception of the second electromagnetic signal with the diffraction pattern determined at reception of the first electromagnetic signal, and a decision is taken on detection of the object according to the variation of the diffraction pattern determined at reception of the second electromagnetic signal comparatively with the diffraction pattern determined at reception of the first electromagnetic signal.

EFFECT: enhanced precision of detection of object.
