FIELD: radar investigations. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to radar methods employing substantially non-monochromatic signal to generate measurement information that can be used to evaluate structural characteristics of geological section through great thickness of solids. Method involves emission of pulse radio signals into geological section, reception of radio signals reflected from geological section which are synchronized in time with emitted pulse radio signals, processing of received reflected radio signals to judge of structures of geological section. Superbroadband pulse radio signals with various forms of pulses whose frequency band is chosen larger or equal to medium frequency are emitted. Reflected radio signals are received in two points as minimum in frequency band wider than frequency band of emitted pulse radio signals. Medium carrier frequencies of received reflected radio signals in each point are different. EFFECT: enhanced authenticity of evaluation of structural characteristics of geological section. 7 cl
