FIELD: steel industry; methods of metals hardening.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to steel industry, in particular, to the methods of metals hardening and may be used at manufacture of the details made out of the corrosion-resistant steels. The method provides for heating of the details up to the temperature of 1100-1200°C, aging in the saturant gas within 2-8 hours and chilling. The chilling is exercised together with the furnace till the room temperature in the saturant gas atmosphere. As the saturant gas use the mixture of ammonia with argon in which the contents of ammonia compounds 45-75 %. The technical result of the invention is the increased hardness and wear resistance of the steel details at provision of the high level of their corrosion resistance.

EFFECT: the invention ensures production of the steel details with improved hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
