LARGE CHANNEL SECTIONS ROLLING METHOD IN THREE-HIGH ROLLING STAND Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC B21B1/95

FIELD: rolled stock production, possibly rolling large channel sections in three-high stands.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of multiple reduction of piece in grooved rolls. Rolling process may be realized in two semi-closed passes used for controlling length of shape flanges and arranged near edge of roll barrel. According to invention first asymmetrical pass is used for reducing length of flange at side of roll barrel end by value h = 2 - 5 mm relative to length of flange of other side of pass.

EFFECT: enhanced stability and efficiency of rolling process, improved quality of channel sections due to accurate geometry of their members, lowered number of rejected pieces.
