FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves introducing benzodiazepines of short action period into premedication composition when performing ophthalmosurgical interventions. The injection is carried out in continuous intravenous dosed mode using 0.9% NaCl solution. Speed and dose is calculated from formula C=K*1000/V*60, where C is the preparation quantity in mcg/kg/min, corresponding to syringe feeder rate equal to 1 ml/h, K is the short-action benzodiazepine drug quantity in mg dissolved in 0.9% NaCl solution, 1000 is the coefficient for transforming mg into kg, V is the 0.9% NaCl solution volume in ml, M is patient body mass, 60 is the coefficient for transforming 1 hour into minutes.
EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in selecting optimum short action benzodiazepine dose.
