METHOD FOR TRANSABDOMINAL ULTRASOUND RESEARCH Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC A61B8/00

Abstract RU 2289316 C2

FIELD: medicine, diagnostics, gynecology, urology.

SUBSTANCE: in a female patient in the state of empty bladder it is necessary to carry out transabdominal echography through anterior abdominal wall. Based upon anatomic orientation it is possible to state upon the size of uterine body and adnexal area. Then it is important to apply a transurethral sterile drop-type catheter at 100-500 ml physiological solution and 250 ml uroseptic of a standard furacillin solution to fulfill retrograde filling of patient's bladder under dynamic ultrasound control and regulate the rate of flow-type introduction of liquid into bladder's cavity within 1-5 min and individual volume of introduced physiological solution up to complete removal of intestinal loops followed by contrasting the bladder and visualization of uterine body and adnexa. One should detect the mobility and relative position of the bladder against uterine body and adnexa, the state of internal surface of bladder's mucosa and external contours. The innovation enables to accelerate the yield of results after transabdominal sonography.

EFFECT: higher efficiency.
