FIELD: mechanical engineering; conveyors.

SUBSTANCE: proposed screw conveyor for transporting loose loads has cylindrical trough with curvilinear guide and flexible shaft in form of double-lay rope with screw blade. Screw blade of flexible shaft is trihedral strand with one of three apices rigidly connected to two adjacent outer round strands of double-lay rope. Axis of trihedral strand passes through said apex and longitudinal axis of double-lay rope and divides outer face opposite to said in two halves, and radius of curvature of outer face of trihedral strand is equal to inner radius of cylindrical trough.

EFFECT: increased capacity of screw conveyor at transporting loose load along curvilinear path.
