FIELD: manufacture of engines; diagnosis of diesel engine fuel equipment.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method of testing high-pressure fuel pumps includes measurement of pump output, irregularity of fuel supply and phase parameters of pump sections. Measurements are performed by means of one measuring channel for each section of pump. Measurement of pump output and irregularity of fuel supply by pump sections is performed by dynamic measurement of fuel flow rate and measurement of phase parameters are performed by angle of turn of pump camshaft and by change in fuel pressure. Device proposed for realization of this method has frame with plate mounted on it and used for carrying the high-pressure fuel pump, drive, injector, fuel supply system and units for measurement of output, irregularity of fuel supply and phase parameters of pump sections connected with control system and information processing system. Unit for measurement of pump output and irregularity of fuel supply is made in form of flowmeter mounted after injector in way of fuel flow. Unit for measurement of phase parameters is made in form of pressure sensor mounted in between pump section under test and injector and angular displacement sensor connected with shaft of drive. Pressure sensor, injector and flowmeter are combined in one measuring channel which may be connected with each section in turn.

EFFECT: reduced mass and dimensional characteristics; reduced power requirements; low cost.
