FIELD: smoke-free combustion of gases in flare and other units.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes supply of variable-composition and variable-flowrate gases to be burned from flare torch head to combustion zone at controlled rated speeds due to creating static gage pressure of this gas proportional to gas flow velocity by means of movable regulating device in the form of slotted gas seal. Static pressure of 0.00001 to 30.0 MPa is built up under regulating device to afford rated outlet speed of gases conveyed to combustion zone from 1 m/s to 8 sound velocities; low-kinetic-energy gases of other flare systems to be combusted are ejected by high-kinetic-energy gases; gas jet is shaped as limited-thickness turbulent gas flow at angle of -160 to + 160 deg. from combusted gas jet axis. In addition, provision is made for passing high-kinetic-energy gases to combustion zone bypassing movable slotted gas seal at reduced pressures of high-pressure flare systems. Proposed method provides for smoke-free combustion of variable-flow, variable-composition, and variable-pressure fuel gases of various flare systems in flare unit without forced supply of steam and/or air ,and/or water.
EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities.
