METHOD FOR ESTIMATING EFFICIENCY OF WASHING ADMIXTURES USED IN GASOLINE Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC G01N5/00

FIELD: measuring equipment engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method includes injecting fuel into inlet system of engine with following weighing in precipitations appearing on replaceable metallic plate. Into inlet system of engine, additionally, separately from fuel being tested, polluting agent is injected, in form of a solution of heavy oil fractions. Tests are performed in cyclic mode including heating up replaceable metallic plate up to temperature within limits of 150-250°C and exposure at that temperature. Prior to weighing, replaceable metallic plate is treated with volatile hydrocarbon solvent with following drying, and efficiency of washing admixtures is evaluated on basis of comparison of amount of precipitations on metallic plate appearing during testing of fuel with admixture and without it.

EFFECT: development of short-duration laboratory method useable for evaluating efficiency of washing admixtures used in automobile gasoline, for maintaining cleanness in inlet system of engine, characterized by trustworthy evaluation results and making it possible to select concentration of admixture.
