FIELD: medicine, surgery.
SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with surgical treatment of colonic cancer complicated with intestinal obstruction. In case of colonic resection it is necessary to detect the content of free water in a part of intestinal wall, its area being 1.5x1.5 sq. cm, taken along line of colonic resection; in case of free water content being not more than 0.17±0.0002 the level of colonic resection is considered to be sufficient, at free water content being above 0.44±0.0003 one should fulfill colonic reresection by stepping proximally. The innovation enables to significantly detect viability of intestinal wall; as a result, in post-surgical period there are no intestinal necroses in patients, the quantity of purulent-septic complications has been decreased, the same with berth/day and, quality of life has been increased in such patients.
EFFECT: higher accuracy and efficiency of detection.
