METHOD FOR RESECTING PANCREATIC BODY AND TAIL Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC A61B17/00 

FIELD: medicine, surgery.

SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with treating pancreatic cancer and tumors metastasing into pancreas. It is necessary to resect pancreatic body and tail. Moreover, cross-sectionally one should cross a pancreas, pancreas' stump should not be sutured. Then one should fix ductal stump's edge with two clamps by placing one opposite another being nearer to the upper and the lower edges of pancreas' stump. The edge of pancreatic duct should be divided into sectors. The upper clamp should be in a 12-o'clock-position. The lower clamp should be in a 6-o'clock-position. Ductal wall should be sutured, then one should perform puncture in being 2 mm against the wall, into pancreatic tissue in a 9-o'clock-position. One should apply ligature with a needle through ductal lumen followed by puncture in into ductal wall in a 3-o'clocl-position. In case of puncture out one should apply ligature through pancreatic tissue at the distance of 2 mm, then comes puncture in with a needle with the second ligature into ductal wall from the side of the lumen in a 7-o'clock-position. Ligature should be applied into pancreatic tissues being 2 mm against the external ductal wall. Puncture out should be made in a 4-o'clock-position followed by puncture in with a needle with the third ligature into pancreatic tissue in a 10-o'clock-position. Then it is necessary to leave 2 mm against ductal wall, apply ligature into pancreatic tissues, suture ductal wall in a 2-o'clock-position, withdraw ligature through ductal lumen outwards, tighten the knots applied. The innovation suggested enables to prevent the development of fermentative peritonitis.
