FIELD: mechanical engineering; drying.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat-mass exchange processes, particularly, to drying of dispersed material by vortex flow and it can be used for drying particles with surface moisture, such as sand. In proposed method of drying of loose material including tangential delivery of loose material in accompanying gas flow, formation of layer on side walls of vortex device, displacement of layer from top to bottom with fluidization of material by swirling gas flow, heating and evaporation of moisture from material by swirling gas flow, it is suggested that flow of particles of material and gas should be additionally swirled at simultaneous formation of fluidized layer by moving along preset spiral trajectory under action of gravity force and aerodynamic forces. Vortex device for drying loose material containing housing, ring gas flow swirlers installed in housing, tangentially arranged input channel for accompanying flow of gas and material, axial output of gas flow, should be furnished with spiral multistart ribs installed along ring swirlers.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of drying of loose materials.
