FIELD: engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a vortex chamber for conducting chemical reactions in a fluidised particle bed. The chamber is made in form of two coaxial circular truncated cones, form an annular conical channel with the surfaces thereof, the walls whereof converge to the top to the vertical axis of the chamber, and the angle of inclination of the channel is equal to the angle between the generatrix of the cone and the axis thereof (chamber axis). The chamber is characterised by the fact that the angle of inclination of the annular conical channel to the vertical chamber axis equals 45 degrees, the walls of the annular conical channel, narrowed towards the top of the chamber axis, adjoin the exhaust cylindrical gas discharge pipe, and in the lower part of the annular conical channel perpendicular to the conical walls of the chamber, a conical vortex generator is installed, constituting a gas-distributing grid for gas supply to the fluidised particle bed.
EFFECT: proposed chamber allows significantly increasing the rate of chemical reaction by increasing the rate of heat and mass transfer of gas and particles of the dispersed material, while reducing the carry-over and abrasion of particles, approaching the characteristics of a reactor with fluidisation in a gravity field by this indicator.
