FIELD: nuclear engineering; pressurized-water and boiling-water reactors.
SUBSTANCE: proposed spacer grid designed for spacing and locking fuel elements in fuel assemblies has subchannels formed by perpendicular crossing plates and used to receive fuel elements or guide channels. These plates carry bent-out blades on their ends at coolant flow outlet designed for coolant mixing. Each subchannel receiving fuel elements is provided with push-in spacer element with closed loop for locking fuel element in position. Such design of spacer grid provides for reliable holding of subchannels against turn and for their stability at the same time loosening fixation of fuel elements or guide channels in subchannel.
EFFECT: reduced hydraulic resistance of spacer grid.
