FIELD: chemical engineering, may be used in metallurgy for catching of agglutinating dust, in particular, for deposition of titanium dioxide from dust-gas flow.
SUBSTANCE: cyclone has cylindrical casing 1 with tangential inlet branch pipe and central discharge pipe 3, conical bottom 4 with outlet branch pipe 5 for discharging of caught particles, and conical quieting chamber 6 axially arranged between casing 1 and discharge pipe 3. Larger base of quieting chamber 6 adjoins to casing 1 at the following ratio of geometric parameters: d/D=(0.1-0.7); f/F=(1·10-3-2.2·10-2); α=(60°-80°), where d is diameter of larger base of conical quieting chamber adjoining to casing; D is diameter of cylindrical casing; f is cross-sectional area of tangential inlet branch pipe; F is area of side surface of cylindrical casing; α is angle between generatrix of conical bottom and transverse horizontal plane. Cyclone of such construction allows titanium dioxide catching extent to reach 88-97%.
EFFECT: increased efficiency by eliminating the possibility of clogging said cyclone and increased extent of catching titanium dioxide.
