FIELD: devices for mounting articles in preset position in respective coordinate system.

SUBSTANCE: proposed positioning device includes at least three modules of coordinate motion. Each module has three units for motion in three coordinate directions. Each module is provided with external base point carrier for separate motion so that position of base points in space in appropriate coordinate system should correspond to required position of base point carrier of article. Geometric profile of each base point carrier is geometrically mating to base point carrier of article. Coordinate motion units of each module may be changed-over separately and independently from fixed position where position of external base point carriers coincides with required position of base point carriers of article to free position at free motion along coordinate direction of motion which is necessary for taking up clearances between external base point carriers and base point carriers of article to be mounted.
