METHOD FOR PRODUCING CUTTING WIRE WITH STRENGTH DIAMOND -CONTAINING COATING Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC C25D7/06 C25D15/00 

FIELD: processes and equipment for electrochemical applying of coatings, possibly at manufacturing cutting tool in the form of steel wire with diamond-containing coating for cutting natural and artificial minerals.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of applying diamond powder and fixing it by electrochemical deposition of nickel. Before applying diamond powder, wire is degreased; preliminary and main nickel deposition processes are realized. Diamond powder is applied due to moving wire wetted in nickel-plating electrolyte through layer of diamond powder between belts made of chemically stable cloth. Said belts are moved at speed 0.05 - 0.5 m/s equal to motion speed of wire in such a way that wire and layer of diamond powder for time period of wire presence in bath are fixed one relative to other. Diamond powder is applied onto wire through which electric current with current density 15 - 25 A/dm² is passed at temperature 46 - 60°C. Diamond powder is fixed on wire at depositing nickel in fluidic mode at speed of jets 3 - 5 m/s, temperature 45 - 60°C, electric current density 15 -25 A/dm² ,pH (4.2 - 4.3).

EFFECT: continuous process for producing strength diamond containing coating on steel wire at applying diamond powder with hydrophilic surface.
