FIELD: manufacture of balls from high carbon steel or cast iron.
SUBSTANCE: method involves producing balls from high carbon steel or cast iron by centrifugal spraying, with grain composition ranging between about 0.5 mm to 15 mm and apparent density exceeding 4.3 g/cm3. Method allows balls manufactured using above processes to be utilized as milling medium in mills employed in mining industry. Rotational speed of table ranges between about 250 rev/min and about 1,500 rev/min.
EFFECT: improved wear-resistance and increased efficiency in producing of milling medium.
