FIELD: mechanical engineering and other industries; welding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to plasma-arc welding of aluminum alloys. According to proposed method, pilot arc is struck between cathode and nozzle-anode and dc reverse polarity main arc is struck between workpiece and nozzle-anode. Common anode spot is formed. Plasma-forming gas is fed through channel of nozzle-anode. Anode spot is located on inner edge of nozzle-anode channel by supplying currents at ratio of Ip/Im=0.4-3.2 to pilot and main arcs. Owing to such location of anode spot on inner edge of nozzle-anode, main arc features greater degree of constriction and penetration capacity.
EFFECT: improved plasma-arc welding process.
