FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to plasma welding of metals by electric-arc plasma generators and may be used in prosthetic dentistry, jewelry, machine building, instrument making and production of artificial fibers. Proposed method comprises feeding working fluid by capillary forces from reservoir with moisture absorbing filler into evaporator, heating it to fluid boiling point, generating fluid vapors in said evaporator at pressure above atmospheric one and swirling said vapors by blowing vapors tangentially at pressure into shaped channel of plasma generator. Longitudinal arc discharge is excited in said channel and plasma flow is generated along said channel, wherein arc and plasma flow are compressed by channel walls and stabilised by gas in channel axis area. Note here that working fluid for welding incombustible materials represents aqueous solution of ammonium.
EFFECT: stable arcing, higher quality of welded joints, longer life of plasma generator.
