FIELD: metallurgical industry, preferably steel melting in hearth steel melting aggregate.
SUBSTANCE: process comprises steps of loading metal charge; heating it and melting; providing desired characteristics of melt metal and slag; blowing bath with inert or neutral gas from blowing apparatuses mounted in porous refractory layer of hearth; intensifying heat-mass exchange processes due to controlling feed intensity of and pressure of blast; in addition regulating oxidation potential of melt metal and slag due to changing oxygen doze in blast in range 0.5 -25% and due to regulating feed intensity of blast per each blowing apparatus in range 3.0 x10-2 - 7.0 x10-2 m3/h per ton of melt.
EFFECT: stable process of agitating bath, lowered consumption of blast, decreased wear degree of lining, reduced duration of idling periods.
