FIELD: technology for determining area of cross-section of steel rope.

SUBSTANCE: in accordance to metal, steel rope is longitudinally magnetized by means of constant magnets and magnetic duct to saturation state, parameters of magnetic stream are measured in two symmetrically positioned points, and for determining change of transverse area results are added, while parameters of section of magnetization flow are measured between similar and symmetrically positioned parts of magnetic duct, after that on basis of performed calibration of known indications of magneto-sensitive sensors, appropriate for loss of cross-section of steel rope of 100 and 0%, control over loss of metallic cross-section of steel rope is performed.

EFFECT: increased precision of control over area of transverse metallic cross-section of steel rope.
