FIELD: the invention refers to underwater acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: the mode includes radiation of a frequency-modulated signal, reception of the frequency-modulated signal reflected from the target, computation of complex frequency spectrum of radiated and reflected signals, definition of phase spectrums of the received complex spectrums and continuous functions of the phase angle, normalization of continuous functions of the phase angle on maximum. In accordance with normalized continuous functions of the phase angle they define frequencies corresponding to the maximum of these functions, in accordance with the differences of the received frequencies they define Doppler displacement of the spectrum of the reflected frequency-modulated signal and that allows to define the radial speed of the target.
EFFECT: increases resolvability at measuring the radial speed of a target.
