FIELD: atomic industry.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method for manufacturing pelletized fuel for fuel elements includes preparation of molding powder from uranium dioxide UO2 by multiple-stage mixing with binder and with powdered uranium dioxide U3O2 followed by compression; thermal removal of binder, sintering of pelletized fuel in gaseous reducing medium, wet grinding, drying in inert gaseous medium, and quality control. In the process samples are taken from batches of powdered uranium dioxide UO2, and pelletized fuel is produced from these samples. This pelletized fuel is checked for annular voids on pelletized fuel surface and if they are not detected, pelletized fuel is produced from entire batch of this sample. Device for manufacturing pelletized fuel for fuel elements has multiple-stage unit for mixing powdered uranium dioxide UO2, uranium oxide U308, and binder, pelletized fuel pressing unit, unit for sintering pelletized fuel in reducing medium incorporating centers for accumulating pelletized fuel before and after sintering, pelletized fuel wet grinding unit, and rejected pelletized fuel recovery unit.
